[Digestion] Digestion Digest, Vol 34, Issue 6

G'day Edward,

3. You may find
http://wastewaterbacteria.blogspot.com.au/2011/07/how-do-bacteria-lower-cod-and-bod.html
helpful.
2. Growth Rate is dependent on temperature, but I am not sure about life
span (I am an engineer and I don't use life span, just growth rate).
1. Each kg of Volatile Solids destroyed gives half a cubic metre of
biogas. There is a conversion (dependent on waste type) between VS and
COD. Metcalf and Eddy (the Wastewater book) give a COD to biogas conversion.

You may find the attached excel file a help to figure some of this out
(but it just has animal manures as substrates),

Happy digesting,
HOOROO

Hope this helps,
HOOROO
