    But of course BMP may be measured for "paper" or cellulose, but it
    will depend on so many factors that can easily differ-- among them
    the ecology of the test digester and the specifics of the paper
    used-- that it is best to do one's own batch studies.<br>

    Just by the way, I think the Buswell study, from 1929, is
    particularly interesting because it shows a rather large underground
    digester (large for a test digester-- 9 ft deep, ~8 ft across) that
    has several characteristics similar to today's most widely used
    underground masonry village digesters. It may therefore be
    considered to be among the first if not the first precursor to those
    digesters.<br>
