<div>knowing the BOD is not enough. The organic matter in the substrate must first be digested by the consortium of microbes which produce methane. If the organic matter consists of lignin, suberin or certain types of phenolic compounds, you would not get any biogas from such material. So please specify the nature of the organic compounds in the material that you wish to get methane from. You may construct a small biogas plant having a digester of 200 litres and test for yourself how much biogas you get per unit of effluent.</div>
