Report Highlights: 

Biomass Gasification Considerations

Biomass gasification is critically influenced by Operating Conditions and
Feedstock Characteristics. For example, residence time will impact gas
quality and reactor height. Feedstock sizing affects the uniformity of both
bubbling and circulating fluidized beds. 

Estimating the cost for a biomass gasification system can be a daunting
task. As part of this review, Harris Group developed a gasifier cost
estimating tool to evaluate costs as a function of operating conditions and
feedstock characteristics. The cost estimating tool can be applied to
multiple gasification technologies, and several examples of the tool's
outputs are included in the report.
