They are not inherently safe, just more forgiving. The lack
of both a large steam cavity (chest), as well as water-tube
construction make them appealing to backyard experimenters,
but they don't reach below the threshold of "danger to life
and limb inexistent." Don't be deceived.

It has been written that the flash/monotube-boiler is fairly
safe and can handle common water. Do you think that there is
truth to that statement?
