Hi Mark,
your comments are not lost on me and am completely cognisant of the work
required to commercialise an invention. I have also known from the outset
that the potential of my technology is bigger than my potential, so yes it
will require partners. Here is a great video for any budding entrepeneur,
one that throws out some common misconceptions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chXsLtHqfdM I particularly like his
comments on planning for the first thing any business advisor seems to want
to do is make you write a business plan. The real treasure is at the end
though where he talks about any successful enterprise depends on three
people, the inventor/product guy, the marketer and the finance guy.
Luckily it is starting to get some traction here in New Zealand and even if
I changed nothing it is not clear it would grow into a good enterprise.
There are lots more ways for me to move it forward when the time comes
though, as well as lots more applications for the technology. One in
particular application I don't expect to see light for 5-10 years as it
will take 7 figure sums to develop.
1% inspiration and 99% perspiration is proving to be quite accurate. It
will succeed because I will make it do so.
Recently I found statistics on patents that get granted so there is some
small hope contained there. It is actually quite difficult to find
something novel going by the numbers, so to have done so is a great first
step.
Regards
Jason
