Hi,

What are the all the after effects when using wood chips in a
down draught gasifier with moisture 20% to 30% ? Haven't
tried 20-30% yet, but we have been testing Albasia wood
chips ( 127 kg/m3) at 12%, still there was so much moisture
in hopper, I will try this week with 25% bamboo chips, let
you know.

Its opinion ed that biomass briquettes can be used in biomass
gasifier, could some one advice which is the best briquetting
process as under Briquettes are made with screws pressure
about 40 tons, we use mix sawdust merbau-mahogany,
briquettes weigh 1200 kg/m3, moisture level 7-8%. If you
want I can send you some briquettes, you can try, I assume
you are in Indonesia, I am in Purworejo. Briquettes are
costly to use in gasifiers, briquette charcoal would be more
fiziable, since we sell broken briquette charcoal almost
same price as the briquettes.

Multi variable biomass briquettes ( Rice husk, saw dust,
groundnut shell ) or Individual biomass briquettes can be
used Yes they can be made briquettes but costly. We are
working on a system it would make briquettes from
household garbage to use in gasifiers. Main purpose is to
dry the waste.

Under what conditions could flame or burning be experienced in
down draught gasifier when in operation using wood chips. I
really don't understand the question. Once you fire the wood
chips in gasifier, you have flame and and char in almost
instant with blowers. We get wood gas in 2-3 minutes, but
actually takes about 30 minutes to get the gasifiers heated and
really clean gas.
