We don¹t see too many job postings on the GB listserv, but for anyone in the
DC/Baltimore region, please see below (or feel free to forward to
appropriate networks)...

We¹re searching for crew members to help us with some fantastic 2011
initiatives.

If you have the experience, flexibility, passion, and desire to learn and
change the world one building project at a time, please send us your resume,
ideas, availability, and anything else you think we should know.

If you don¹t know Amicus Green Building Center, we are like a home
improvement/building science store where everything is ³green²--healthy,
safe, environmentally appropriate, durable, energy and water saving, and
future friendly.
We are where the rubber meets the road to help people make great green goals
into reality.

We are looking for:

An Interior Designer to help create awesome small projects (kitchen and bath
remodels, small additions, etc).
The occasional larger project (bigger additions, new construction, etc) is
possible.
* Your interior design experience should include cabinet design; conducting
site surveys; creating a vision based on client goals and limitations; and
turning concept into reality. Great design eye and flexibility to meet the
client¹s aesthetic appeal(s).
* Experience with CAD, especially AutoCAD and/or Revit
* Experience with green materials is helpful but less important than a rock
solid commitment to learn about and use these products and the best
practices for using them.
* Great communication and interpretation skills and patience to work with
(potential) clients, contractors, builders, and other participants
* Have a sense of humor and willingness to pitch in‹working as a team
* Flexible time‹could be part-time or dedicated freelance, and there¹s the
possibility of it growing into full-time
* Can work offsite but also need to be able to work at our Kensington and
downtown DC locations

A Community outreach coordinator to work with schools, businesses, NGOs and
local institutions to support their green teams and initiatives for their
people at work, home, and in between.
* Be outgoing‹make connections and partnerships
* Be supportive‹help people with their own goals and programs; share ideas
and best practices
* Be creative‹devise and manage program ideas and activities
* If you have experience with corporate green teams, developing school
curriculum, local fundraising programs, and/or have ever wished to see lofty
goals become tangible activities‹this could be a great role for you.

A Retail Sales Rep to work with customers of all stripes that come into the
store.
* Great communication and interpretation skills and patience to work with
customers, contractors, architects, designers, and others
* Retail sales experience is helpful, including front-office and back-office
tasks
* Be a sponge‹learning lots of details about lots of products and when to
use them (and when not to). Experience with green materials is helpful but
less important than a rock solid commitment to learn about them.
* Knowledge of, and experience in, construction, building elements and the
building process would be helpful but not critical
* Have a sense of humor and willingness to pitch in‹working as a team
* Part-time with the distinct possibility of becoming full-time
(individually or in combination with other roles)

A Building Trades Rep to work with builders, designers and other pros.
Support their projects. Build relationships. Provide expertise, best
practices, and contacts as appropriate.
* Prior sales experience working with building pros very helpful. Experience
in construction would be a bonus.
* Have a good handle on construction business, terms, processes, common
problems, and best practices.
* Experience with green building will be very helpful, but more important is
your willingness to be a sponge‹learn tons and share your knowledge
* Part-time with the distinct possibility of becoming full-time
(individually or in combination with other roles).

We are creative and flexible‹the same person could cover multiple roles, and
they may morph over time.

Send your quals, references, ideas and availability to store at amicusgreen.com

Thanks‹and happy holidays,

Jason Holstine
