[Greenbuilding] R20 window insulation?

It is a rigid foam insulating board, it has aluminum foil on one side and a 
plastic film on the other, and I used the 3/4in because that's what I could 
buy off the shelf locally.  If you use less of it, you get less insulation. 
R-value,  It is R-5 for 3/4 inch.

What is Rmaxx and does it make a difference if it is thinner?
