Kat,
I love that idea....giant roof tiles made of 1/2 recycled 55 gallon barrels.  Yes, maybe too heavy for a "shack" but completely doable on a stick frame or better. I wonder how many US building codes they wouldn't meet????

That's exactly what I was thinking of, but again, it would require a ton 
more (expensive) wood structure than they have.  Heh, maybe you could 
make GIANT roof tiles out of old translucent plastic 50 gal barrels.  
But that would be very, very, very heavy so never mind.
