Hmm. Well, it's hard to argue with personal experience, but anecdote is a
dangerous road to travel. These kinds of products have always struck me as
seriously specious. Here's what the VWP pages say about it's operation:

"The VWP Water Processor™ ionizes the water using a special frequency
resonance
technology. This technology releases electrons from the water molecules
which
oxygenates the water, oxidizing impurities such as iron and copper;
converting them
into small harmless crystals. The lime in the water will also be
crystallized, eliminating
scaling and deposits. Also, older deposits will dissolve and the water will
become “soft”
without removing the vital minerals. If chlorine is present in the water, it
will be reduced
to a harmless level."

There are several things wrong with that description, as far as I can tell.
One, you can't ionize pure water -- see here:

http://www.chem1.com/CQ/ionbunk.html

Second, the description seems to confuse ionization with oxygenation.
Further info on oxygenated water scams is here:

http://www.chem1.com/CQ/oxyscams.html

Finally: "if chlorine is present, it will be reduced to a harmless level":
uh, how? There's no filter in the system, so it's not being removed.
Presumably (if I believed the claims) I'd assume it's being combined with
something, but all we have for sure to work with are oxygen & hydrogen.
Chlorine doesn't react under these kinds of conditions with oxygen, and
forms hydrochloric acid with hydrogen, which may or may not be an
improvement over the chlorine itself.

I simply don't see any identifiable science (meaning: careful examination of
results and mechanisms with an eye to controlling bias) in all the
hand-waving. Nor any real evidence, nor independent testing, nor anything
but more of the same on the web... there are a lot of magical water
treatment systems out there...

I remember there was one where, after you treated the water, you could add a
drop of it to other water and it would be treated too: harmonically
realigned and frequency resonated or something. I mean, why don't they just
drop a little into all our reservoirs and protect us all from cancer! It's
the HMO's that are keeping this technology from us... though maybe there are
more dangerous implications, akin to Vonnegut's Ice-9.
