Yes, All that should be read with "Corwyn lives in Maine, and was
writing to someone else who does" glasses.
Building codes are minimal here, and largely unenforced.
In my town, the _minimum_ lot size is 1 acre for a few places, most
locations are 2, or even 5 acres.
You make a good point about the term 'energy efficient'. Sadly, "lowest
energy cost over the full life-cycle" is a mouthful.
