Energy Star Standard V2.0 excludes wastewater heat recovery systems, yet application notes @ http://www.gfxtechnology.com/DishWasher.pdf, for example, show enormous quantities of recoverable waste-heat goes down-the-drain.
     Could anyone explain why Energy Star Managers continue to ignore energy in 185F wastewater flowing near 4.5 GPM from thousands of Flight-Type dishwashers that run up to 22 hours per day in busy hotels like those in DisneyWorld?

  Dear ENERGY STAR® Commercial Dishwasher Manufacturer or Other Interested Party: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is pleased to inform you that the ENERGY STAR Version 2.0 Commercial Dishwasher specification has been finalized.  The new specification will take effect on February 1, 2013.  Attached are the Final Version 2.0 Eligibility Criteria and Partner Commitment documents for your reference.  The EPA cover memo outlines the deployment timeline for transitioning to the new Version 2.0 specification. All documents related to the development of the Version 2.0 specification can be viewed on the ENERGY STAR specification development website at www.energystar.gov/revisedspecs (click on “Commercial Dishwashers”).
