[Greenbuilding] Split AC vs. Window AC

Other, perhaps obvious, differences as well. The split unit will be 
quieter and can be placed where needed as opposed to wherever the 
window happens to be. You won't need to remove it in the winter.

OTOH, installation will be more expensive.
