John,
Check out the Daikin Quaternity. I believe it's the only ductless heat pump that can
dehumidify a space and maintain its set temperature. Our unit can't do that so
we've done much as you've previously described -- run it in dry mode for an hour
or so and then switch back to heat. It's the only way we can wring out excess
humidity during moderately warm and humid days without experiencing an
uncomfortable drop in room temperature.
