I was raised in a 1952 built home which had cast iron base board
radiators all through the house. As a kid, I loved being able to turn
the valve in my bedroom, and adjust the temperature to my liking, (which
was turning the rads completely off when I slept).

Drying your wet Winter-soaked mittens was easy to do, too.

And if you ever needed a Ground, for your crystal radio set, you could
tap onto the rads anywhere in the room.

Lot's of good reasons to like hot water heat distribution.

They are very common here in New England. As such, they don't have any
major issues. Insulate the pipes, obviously; have the boiler serviced.
All the rest is details about your exact circumstances.

Thank You Kindly,
