About 30 years ago the yen was very low and you could get Japanese chisels
and saws for a few dollars and of course no one recognized how good they
were - now at 10x the price they are valued

ha, ha. Yes, a very affordable country particularly for the right kind of
activities. Sharp tools are so second nature there that I don't thing
