[Greenbuilding] glass panels as porch roof?

So I'm finally getting around to putting this roof together. I appreciate
the glass patio door reuse idea, and am proceeding full steam. Got four
doors already.
....

Except I just found out via that crazy thing we call the internet that
these tempered panels can't be cut! Three of the doors will work out full
height, but the width I'd settled on for most of the roof is 53". I figured
I'd just have the local glass shop cut all those ~77" doors down to 53" and
I'd be in business. Ha!

Running the doors the other way isn't really a possibility.  Or at least
I've not thought of a clever way to make that work.

Thoughts?
