[Greenbuilding] Eifs as air barrier?

Most of the details shown in the first brochure would be considered 20 yr
old techniques in Canada. 
None of this seems to specifically address the number one cause of failures
in claims (in North America and Europe) which is rain penetration.
Great chemistry, but the application needs to be adjusted to reflect the
field experience of problems.
Although European building science researchers are now becoming (slowly?)
aware of the problems of rain leaks, the practise clearly has not yet caught
up.
Better to look at window installation details from North America, and use
good products: from Europe, Japan or USA.  But the details are more
important.

wall joints used in many passivhaus's in Europe.

attention not all synthetic glues are the same quality...VOCs, lifetime,...

EPDM compression gaskets, in multiple units can also achieve good levels of
air sealing but require very good built detailing.
