[Greenbuilding] Advice on siting a home when the view is to the north

It seems that there's a guy in eastern Ontario doing this...on Amherst
Island, perhaps? I don't know if I'm in Reuben's boat (southern Ontario
is not the sun capital of anywhere), but will see if I can find info on
that, as I really like the idea.
