No suggestions for paint but ...
I wonder if it might be an option to use some diverted-from-the
wastestream, tempered glass shower doors or panels from glass shower
enclosures for the task ?
ie The glass panels might be textured, obscure glass or one could paint
the backside of the glass the steel cabinet or use some sort of decorative
insert between the glass and the steel cabinet etc
If you aren't fortunate enough to find such panels where the glass is
exactly the right size, then I'm sure that you can come up with an
ingenious solution to deal with any dimensional shortcomings at the
corners and edges.
