Hi Sacie;

  I*t sounds like TwinWall polycarbonate might serve your purpose, well.
It is rigid enough to easily stay in your openings. It cuts easily. It can
be trimmed out on the edges in various ways, ranging from a simple wood
frame with the TwinWall just riding in a basic saw kerf, to just ringing it
with a decorative colored or metallic tape. Twinwall has attractive
vertical lines, which create a translucence, but you can look between the
inner fins if you put your eye very close to it. The 6mm thickness can be
had for a very reasonable price. Since it is two layers it has a good
Rvalue (R-1.6), and an impressive Solar transmittance of 82%.*
