[Greenbuilding] Electromagnetic fields...!

Absolutely untrue. EMFs are caused by direct *or* alternating current.
(If they weren't, DC motors wouldn't work!)

The magnetic field from DC is just as much magnetic, and as much a result
of the electric current (that's the "electro" part of it) as AC.

I agree that cell phone use is potentially worse than having PVs on your
roof.

There are simple things which can be done to reduce the effects of EMFs
from wiring. Have you ever opened up a telephone wire or ethernet cable?
If you do you'll see that they're made of twisted pairs of wires, and those
pairs are also twisted around each other. The EMF from the current going
one way in one of those wires tends to cancel out the EMF from the current
going the other way. Ethernet cable has more twists per inch than telco
wire because ethernet systems are more susceptible to EMF interference.
(Both are DC, by the way).

Grounded sheilding can also reduce the effects of EMFs. That's why COAX
cable is built the way it is.
