It's amazing how bad the air exchange industry screwed up their customer education.<div><br></div><div>HRV = Heat exchange (heat/cool) only</div><div>ERV = Energy exchange (heat/cool) & moisture.</div><div><br></div>
<div>The ERV just helps to maintain whatever the humidity levels between the inside and outside RH levels. The hrv does no moisture exchange, therefore, it could be better, or worse, depending on your inside and outside conditions.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Whether the ERV would be worth the additional cost in your climate is up to you. They're not that much more if you can pick them up straight from the distributor.</div><div><br></div><div>Unless you live in a desert, you'll most likely need dehumidification in the summer, unless you're AC is running nonstop and is good at dumping moisture.</div>
