Saw dust doesn't do that. The liquid continues spreading through the saw dust.</div>

Thinking back to my days in elementary school, I remember kids having "accidents" in the classroom and the teacher having to call in the custodian to clean up.<br>

I remember green stuff that looked like sawdust being sprinkled over the area to soak up the lovely kidjuice before being scooped up. There was a time when I would have known the brand & product name, but geezerdom has long since eliminated that capability.<br>
<br>
We also know of the utility of sawdust in composting toilet and toilet-in-a-bucket applications.<br>
<br>
And I know that the City of Ottawa likes to have the truckloads of wood chips from tree maintenance people dumped on top of their septic lagoons for a similar reason.<br>
<br>
So I'm wondering "Why not just use sawdust or woodchips for kitty litter instead of buying processed wood pellets for the task ?"<br>
<br>
Softwood sawdust would be naturally scented (ie pine, spruce, cedar) so should meet with the approval of Ms Cat.<br>
(I understand horses don't like a particular species of wood shavings for their bedding but I don't remember which).<br>
