Even made it through two kids and cloth diapers.</span></div><div><br><span></span></div><div><span>Matt, the energy profile on clothes dryers showcases it as the most energy intensive item in the house (more than a refrigerator - it's just that the refrigerator is running all the time, while a clothes dryer is perhaps daily +/-).</span></div><div><br><span></span></div><div><span>I have been trying to pool together some more volunteers to help write in line-drying clothes into a LEED Pilot credit or something! My good friend from college founded LaundryList.org and they were gaining great exposure - fighting no line drying laws across the country, being in newspapers, making folks away, giving
out tips/tricks for an easier way of line-drying, EVEN being on the Colbert Report! :)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>But Reuben is spot on: by far the simplest and easiest way to reduce energy use is line drying. <br></span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Certainly balancing the concept of a more efficient refrigerator will go much further than a more efficient dryer (run time and usage rate - as exemplified by the thread on tankless hot water heaters). </span></div><div><br><span></span></div><div><span>After line drying for a few years, I never understood why I used the dryer so much in the first place....
