I ran into him at a code development meeting in Palm Springs a few years ago and just asked him. He laughed and told me the L was silent. It all makes sense after that.<br>

It reminds me of my wife, who came from a family of orchardists. She always pronounces Almonds like "aammonds". She says all the people that grow them pronounce it that way. She says that by the time they get to market they have knocked the "L" out of them. I have no response to that!<br>

At 41 years old I've decided to go back to school and get my bachelors' degree in civil engineering. One of the required classes (sigh... these lower-level classes are definitely geared for kids) is "Intro to Public Speaking." In this class, I have to do a "tribute speech" on someone who has influenced my life. I've chosen Joe Lstiburek - and I don't even know how to pronounce his last name! I'm sure I'll find a pronunciation on the web somewhere, but Wikipedia doesn't have one. Anyone want to go in there and modify that article to add a pronunciation?<br>
