sans-serif">To be cynical, it looks like a HUD code home </font>(aka
trailer), with modernist styling to appeal to a small demographic.
The fact that they dont provide any technical specs for insulation
value and airtghtness, SHGC etc raises my suspicions.<br>
That said, if it is done right, it could easily meet its lofty and
worthwhile goals because of the small simple shape.<br>
There are a few manufacturers of HUD code homes that can build to
Energy Star, and it is trivial to buy solar and PV to put on them
and easy to rainwater collection. Some people have. These tend to
have pitched roofs because they work better and many more people
like them that way. <br>
Clayton Homes has offered these for a while but there performance
is targetted as "better than code" not really "much better", which
is typical of most of these prefabricated "green" systems.<br>

I cant remember the name, but there is at least one firm in the
west (Dakotas or Montana) that does offer really high performance
for their cold climates.<br>
So the question is, is the performance or cost that much different
for slic homes than for these. I bet slic are more expensive :)<br>
