Hi All,

I am posting this question for my brother in law, who is competent
in just about everything but computer use. He has just bought a
100+ year old stone farmhouse in mid-west Ontario Canada. The
structure has lath and plaster walls laid pretty much on the stone
structure with narrow strapping.

The plan is to strip off the old plaster/lath (it is not all in
good shape) and try to seal the stone on the inside. There are
numerous tiny air gaps. He's considered caulking, but the sheet
volume of the project dissuades him. He's thought of spray foam,
on the advice of a local contractor.
Winters there are cold and he will experience some significant
wind, due tot he home's location.

I know that spray foam has been a topic of late here, but has
anyone any suggestions as to how to seal the stone otherwise?

Many thanks!

Lynelle
