[Stoves] Pressure calculations

Stovers,
Hope I am doing this right by adding an attachment and that the file is not
too big and I get into trouble like last time.
Container C is filled with an anaerobic mess that releases gas under
pressure. Tubing (~ ¼ dia) coils up into container A.
Container B is filled with water and opening of container A goes in about an
inch. Over flow water from A goes into a catch basin under B.
I can measure the volume of gas captured in A by a calibration on the side
of the clear container or the volume of water captured in the catch basin.
If the type of gas is important I can add NaOH to the water in A to
eliminate the CO2 leaving only methane. But prefer not to. I can add a
pressure/vacuum gauge to the top of A if needed. The methane coming out of
C is produced with pressure but I think there is no pressure as the 1/4
tubing is open going into A. Is there a back pressure from the water in A on
the gas coming out of C? Does the height of C relative to A (top or bottom)
have any bearings on the set up?
Thanks
Frank

Frank,
A picture is worth a thousand words here.
I think I see what you want, and Andrew is going the right way, but I'd like
to see a sketch ?
