Hello all,

Just wanted to make sure everyone is invited to this years stove camp at
Aprovecho Research Center.  You can download the schedule on our website at

But here is a cut an pasted version: The week of camp in $300 and includes
classes, a beautiful camping spot next to the river, facilities and one big
ol' party.  It is July 25-29th and hope to see many of you here!!

   alternative Fuels Using Indoor Air Pollution Monitor (IAP) in Test Kitchen
   and Portable Emissions Monitoring System (PEMS) in Lab
   2. No Emissions Solar Cooking – Can Solar Go Global?



*Afternoon Session Lectures and Tours*

   1. Rocket Stoves
   2. Heat Transfer Efficiency
   3. Top-lit updraft stoves (TLUDs or gassifiers) today
   4. Institutional Stoves, Stove Factory

Discussion of Test Results from Thursday

Lecture:  ARC IAP study: The option of ventilation for protecting health

Presentation of projects by participants

Cat Pee Awards: Best TLUD/Fuel Combination and Best Solar Cooker

** The Cat Pee award is named after a PowerPoint slide used by Dr. Kirk
Smith explaining that burning a rag soaked in cat pee and smelling if there
was an attendant odor was used in the 1700’s to test for a clean burning
stove.*

*Noon: Farewell Lunch*

*Some General Notes:*

*Participants are encouraged to bring camping gear and camp out on our
4-acre campus by the river. July weather is generally mild, with occasional
rain. A variety of hotels/motels are available for those who do not choose
to camp out.*

*Meals will be casual, cooperative, and pot-luck. Everyone will have
opportunities to prepare food on a variety of stoves. Aprovecho will provide
one feast: dinner and a party. *

* *

*Bring your musical instruments for informal evening gatherings.*

* *

*Sorry, but we cannot accommodate pets.*
