[Stoves] Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves Newsletter - April 2011

Dear all: What a great opportunity!!. Beside the stoves there is another
kind op practice in some parts in Guatemala, and maybe in some other places
around the world that even have under record deaths, the use of traditional
saunas or temascal.  In some rural areas, like here, the schools also uses
wood for cooking the morning snacks for kids, a lot of them do not have
a improved stove or even a kitchen, if the families have one in the house
all the benefits that they get in there are reduce in the school. Professors
Kirk Smith, John Balmes and  Lisa Thompson have been working with  the
temascal  and stoves as you already know. I work for them in the Field
Station in Guatemala as Field Project Manager.  I hope that you get the
impact that this tasks needs.
