This is a big tlud but the ash shows he is losing yield, and the amount of 
char seems to confirm it, The smoke suggests not enough secondary air is 
being entrained at the junction of his burner and the drum. 

I'll see what progress has been made by UK academia in Edinburgh next 
week.
