Dear All,

For those of you who were not able to make it to the last meeting of the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, here is an email (which if I've forwarded it correctly) should provide links to the presentations and the report.

Cheers

Nat of WorldStove

Dear Nathaniel:
Thank you for your recent participation at the U.S.-based Implementers’ Meeting of the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves. All of us at the Alliance Secretariat appreciate the time you took to learn more about our proposed business plan, based on the Igniting Change sector strategy, and to provide us with feedback on the path that we have outlined to achieve the Alliance’s bold adoption goal of 100 million clean cookstoves by 2020. Essential to the Alliance’s ultimate success will be the engagement and involvement of partners like WorldStove LLC, who are actively engaging to develop markets for clean cooking solutions in the developing world and committed to a coordinated strategy for addressing the tragic deaths of so many from exposure to cookstove smoke.
We believe that we have crafted a draft business plan that not only meets the needs of the sector but also helps to advance the good work that many organizations are doing individually. That said, we know that there may be things we have not sufficiently addressed in the business plan or areas that you may feel could be clarified or strengthened. We hope that you and your colleagues will continue to provide the Secretariat with the same constructive comments that you offered at our recent meeting in Washington, DC, and that you will feel comfortable letting us know if there are things that you believe we could be doing to better meet our mission to save lives, improve livelihoods, empower women, and combat climate change.
As promised, we have included the slide presentations and the original pre-read slide deck that were sent out before the meeting. In May, once we have finished our roll-out meetings in each of the key regions in which the Alliance will operate, the Secretariat will share an updated version of the business plan that incorporates the suggestions and comments that we have received. In the meantime, please continue to keep us posted on any news of your own activities in the sector and share with us the names of those colleagues in the field that you would like us to invite to our regional stakeholder consultation meetings and in-country workshops.
Thank you again for joining us at the U.S.-based Implementers’ meeting and for your continued support of the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves.

Regards,

Radha Muthiah
Executive Director
Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves
