Dear Stovers,
Ticks can also sence the body warmth of warm blooded animals. They climb
up into trees and wait for a warm blooded animal to stand or pass
underneath the tree. When they sense the body warmth of the animal, they
jump on the animal and start sucking its blood. There is definitely an
evolutionary advantage for ticks in having this sensitivity.
