Thanks, Christa for highlighting us on these issues and the reminer about the impotant link between fuel/ stoves - and cooking applicance/-practize.
The other challange or important task is to bring this information out to the "people" and have their say, questions and/ or answers.

Paul, thanks for raising awareness about the cooking energy compendium, which was overhauled completely in a really big effort in 2011. I did present it at ETHOS last year as well containing highlighted slides from the compendium. the presentation can still be found in the ETHOS proceedings from 2012 http://www.vrac.iastate.edu/ethos/proceedings2012.html on Saturday morning 'GIZ cooking energy novelties'.
The entire section on 'Technologies and Practices' got restructured, following the advice I learnt from Paal Wendelbo that' you have to start with the fuel' (thanks Paal for that major insight!).
You get to the chapter via this link https://energypedia.info/wiki/Improved_Cookstoves_–_What_is_it_all_about%3FOn the bottom of the page you find the overview chart of the section, as shown in this screenshot:
There is a lot about TLUDs in the section Cooking with gas from Biomass. this link takes you to there
https://energypedia.info/wiki/Cooking_with_Gas_from_Biomass#Cooking_with_Woodgas
again at the bottom of the section on wood gas you find the link embedded in Further Information
With the aim to expand knowledge and experience about gasifier cookstoves, GIZ HERA published a manual on gasifier applications and appropriate feedstocks in 2011. It gives an introduction to the concept and applications of wood-gas burning technologies for cooking. It also provides comprehensive information and external links. The manual is structured in 3 Modules:Wood-gas from biomass and its application for cookingTechnologies and applications of micro-gasification to cookstovesFeedstocks and fuels for micro-gasification.

sorry for the late reaction, was traveling. will ask to send a link to the most recent leaflet that was printed just before the GACC forum. regards Christa Am 26.03.2013 um 02:32 schrieb Paul Anderson <psanders at ilstu.edu>:
Stovers,
At the GACC Forum we found out about MANY things that somehow do not
come to our attention on the Stoves Listserv . But it has been
announced (26 Jan 2012 yes, 2012) on the Stoves website, but I and
perhaps others have missed it.
There is a MAJOR item about stoves written and available from GIZ
HERA at:
https://energypedia.info/wiki/GIZ_HERA_Cooking_Energy_Compendium
And while you are at it, just look at the root URL where there is
even more links:
https://energypedia.info/
I have not sorted through all of the information, and my quick look
has not found any reference to TLUD or Top-Lit UpDraft or
Micro-gasification. But it is a wiki and we all can make
contributions (but we have time constraints, and there are so many
places that would also take in the wiki content. I am working full
time on TLUD stoves and I cannot keep up even with placing items to
my own website at www.drtlud.com )
It is interesting to me that such resources (these and others) can
often be:
unknown,
under-utilized
repetitious
soooooooooooooo useful!!
overwhelming
etc.
How can such resources be put to better use?
GIZ HERA has a part of the gigantic GIZ.de website. The GIZ
HERA site is:
http://www.giz.de/Themen/en/12941.htm
And there I did not find a quick way to the energypedia
cited above, nor a quick link to a digital copy of the very nice
tri-fold brochure that was available at the GACC Forum. That
brochure gives a great summary of the energypedia efforts.
Maybe GIZ HERA can place a digital copy of the brochure to
the Stoves Website to again call this fine resource to the attention
of all Stovers.
I hope that you find this message to be useful. And think of all
the Stovers who are not subscribed to the Stoves Listserv.
Paul
