*"The New Zealand Aid Programme, acting through the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs and Trade (MFAT), is seeking registrations of interest (ROI) from
suitably qualified and experienced organisations to partner with MFAT on
the design and implementation of an agriculture activity in Myanmar’s
Rakhine State that will:
• improve economic opportunities for communities;
• increase economic returns through improved agricultural productivity;
strengthened linkages to markets; and/or agribusiness development;
• build cohesion across and between communities.
MFAT’s indicative budget for this Activity is up to NZD$4M over 4 years.
Interested organisations will need to demonstrate experience of managing
projects of this scale. MFAT will carry out due diligence during its
procurement process to ensure that applicants have the capacity and
capability to manage New Zealand government funding.
Further details on the work required and background on this Activity as
contained in the attached ROI document.
Questions relating to this ROI must be received in writing to the official
contact person by 12:00pm (NZ time) on Thursday 12 September 2013."*
This is similar to a recent ROI for Indonesia, in which I engaged with
MFAT, proposing biochar related project.
It occurs to me that a biochar stove project would tick a lot of boxes but they
may be looking for the lead organisation to be NZ based.
Any NGO's or TLUD stove groups out there looking for a project with links
into NZ?
I can send you a copy of the ROI document if you are interested.
Regards, trevor
