Dear Stovers,
The United Nations Environment Programme announced a 2013 SEED Award to
Awamu Biomass Energy Ltd on 31 October for further efforts with its TLUD
gasifier cookstoves in Uganda. The award to Awamu is in the "Low
Carbon" category (10 awards).
Detailed information about the 2013 SEED Awards is at:
http://www.unep.org/NewsCentre/Default.aspx?DocumentID=2752&ArticleID=9673&l=en
That article names the 34 awardees, but provides only one photo, which
happens to show the Awamu Quad 3 TLUD stove at a community demonstration
meal with volunteers Jessica D'Itri and Alison Etheridge (ex-Peace Corps
- Nicaragua) plus Paul Anderson and Awamu's executive officer Nolbert
Muhumuza (orange shirt behind Anderson, unfortunately cropped out of the
photo, but he can be seen in the full photo at the DrTLUD website:
http://www.drtlud.com/2013/12/02/awamu-2013-seed-award )
With less details but same photo, the UNEP announcement also appears at
a Chinese website:
http://www.china.org.cn/environment/2013-11/01/content_30466761.htm
and perhaps elsewhere.
