Dear Musungu

Do you have sugar production nearby? There are some molasses by products
that are available cheap from sugar mills that can be used as a binder.

For those interested in ethanol stoves, there are also something over 100
types of alcohols that are left over from distillation of ethanol that will
burn in a stove. There is usually no market for them at any useful price.

Sugar mills are also a good source of pelleting material (bagasse) and
left-overs from processing. The mills are running with energy!

Dear Stovers,

The production of briquettes from coconut husk needs a binder. We did look
at the possibility of using starch, from Tapioca (cassava), that was even
more expensive. We ended up using clay. In Mombasa the clay is also not
cheap and very difficult to come by.
