Dear Colleagues,

 

The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves has released a Request for 
Proposals for “Enhancing Capacity at Regional Testing and Knowledge 
Centers.”  Please review this RFP to see whether it is a good fit for 
your organization and help us to share this with others who may be 
interested.

 

Overview:

 

This Request for Proposals (RFP) is part of the Alliance’s strategy 
to strengthen the cookstove sector’s ability to evaluate, 
communicate, and improve performance of cookstoves and fuels and thus 
improve adoption.  The activities supported in this RFP will address gaps in 
global testing capacity.  Support for strengthening existing testing centers 
will also enhance the network of experts that collaborate globally on 
testing and cookstove development and that also catalyze regional 
activities.

 

Through this RFP, the Alliance will be supporting “Regional Testing 
and Knowledge Centers” (RTKCs) that are providing testing, technology 
development, and capacity building services.  The focus areas for this RFP 
are 1) fuel testing, 2) emissions testing of black carbon and short lived 
climate pollutants, 3) quality assurance and data management, and 4) 
bridging laboratory and field testing with exposure and health research.  
Proposals may include support for equipment (hardware and software) and 
staff training. Proposals must provide justification for how the proposed 
activities address regional need, current gaps at the testing center and 
overall goals for the center. 

 

Deadlines:

 

The deadline for submission of letters of intent is August 20, 2014 11:59 pm 
EDT.

The deadline for submission of full proposals is September 22, 2014 11:59 pm 
EDT.
