I can't say I am 100% sure on how to reply to comments on the list but
anyway....
Richard, for the Unity Rocket Stove the inner core and pot support are
cast together with the insulating surround. The outer finish surface
is then put on afterwards like cement render. In the video

see one side before the render is applied.
And yes, Kaolin clay is one of the ingredients.
