I didn't see the outcome of the debate on whether pollutants resulted
from including simple hydrocarbon plastics in pellets but grocery
carrier bags are made from high density polythene in UK and I think
this melts to a mouldable form at 135C. Extruded through a die
maintained at this temperature it should form an outer film which
would hold the briquette together as it cools. These bags tend not to
be recycled here so end up in landfill.
