[Stoves] Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves - Request for Applications on Sustainable Fuels

Dear all,

The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves has released a Request for Proposals for a Study and Guide for Sustainable Fuel Production, Distribution, and Use. To ensure sustainability of the value chain of fuels for cooking, considering environmental, social and economic sustainability, the Alliance is releasing this Request for Applications.  The goals are to 1) conduct a study to identify successful initiatives, 2) develop a unified matrix on environmental, efficiency, cost, access, health, and other social impacts in fuel production and distribution for different fuel resource options and production and distribution pathways, 3) analyze the knowledge and research gaps related to fuels for cooking, and 4) develop a knowledge sharing guide and  tool for partners (including enterprises, NGOs, and policymakers) to optimize fuel production, distribution, and use.  This project should focus primarily on biomass and non-charcoal fuels produced from biomass, but existing data on other fuel options should be included in the unified matrix and guide.  This project should be developed in coordination with similar projects focused on LPG and charcoal to ensure that the different efforts are compatible and integrated.

The deadline for Letters of Intent (requested but not mandatory) is April 11, 2014.

The deadline for submission of proposals is April 30, 2014.
