   Think of  chemistry first  !  18gram water =22,4 Liter vapor      without the expansion at 800°C    V/T=v/t at + 273 ° C

For C2H5OH   46g=22,4 L    and with air at 800°C it  will burn the cook before the meal ….some day !

Injecting steam over coal makes 'town gas' which burns in the main fire. So using steam to induct air shortens the chimney, stirs the fire and probably improves the combustion efficient all at the same time, with the only loss being the latent heat. Because the combustion wasn't all that great to begin with, there could easily have been a net gain in fuel efficiency. 

 

As the volume involved is so small, couldn't this also be dome using ethanol or methanol as a 'propellant'? ‎It would qualify as co-firing and in some countries (not India) be a way to use sparing amounts of liquid fuel to burn mostly biomass with a great deal of control. 

 

I like the concept!
