Thanks for the photos.

If the kiln is protected from wind, and a short riser is placed on top (±
stator mixer), would it make a practical continuous feed cookstove?

One would have to stoke it, and there may be not much turndown.

I believe this technology is from Japan.  A description of it can be found

I have been seeing "fire bowls" being sold in Canadian hardware stores for
the last few years.  They look to be based on the same idea.
