Dear Ron,

An important application of solar concentrators for thermal storage
resp. decoupling of reception from application, is the regeneration of
adsorbents, such as zeolite. My friends at EG-Solar have developed a
refrigerator that uses the adsorption of water vapor for cooling. Prof.
Mersmann once told me that adsorption could be used for local heat
generation (for example in school benches in cold regions of the world).
Zeolite probably has a great future ahead.

When cooking, the heat storage of the hot pot content itself, i.e. the
thermos technology with thermos flasks, hay bascets etc., is useful.
This technique fully complies with the criteria of Appropriate /
Intermediate Technology (E.F. Schumacher).

Best wishes,
Dieter
