 Subject: [Stoves] HEARTH Conference--Invitation

Hello,
As a member of the Stove List community, I would like to invite you, on behalf of InStove and Burn Design Lab to join a gathering of renewable-energy technology professionals, foundations, students, researchers, volunteers, and community-members for an event in Cottage Grove Oregon, this summer:

HEARTH "Household Energy And Renewable Technology for Humanity"
It will be held from August 17th to 20th, 2017, at the InStove Campus in Cottage Grove, Oregon (79099 Hwy 99). If you plan to stay multiple nights, camping is encouraged--please bring your own tents. For some who are interested in attending, but not able to camp, find a hotel, or otherwise require special accommodation, please contact us and let us know. If you know someone who is interested, please share this email with them.

1) Registration
The website to register attendance is now online at:
www.instove.org/hearth2017
Even if you have already spoken to me or another team member about attending, please be sure to register. *I encourage you to register as soon as possible to confirm that you will be attending, or to let us know not to expect you this year. Space is limited.*
2) PresentingIf you are interested in presenting, there are a limited number of spaces available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Priority will be given to presentations thata) are 20 minutes or less, b) given by those who are traveling great distances to attend, and c) on topics relevant to renewable energy and community-based development which are not yet well-represented. Please apply to present idea at: http://www.instove.org/node/ 138
While Stove professionals will make up the nucleus of this event, it is not meant to be just a "stove conference"--that role belongs to both Stove Camp, which focuses upon important questions of design, standards, and testing; and to ETHOS, which brings together stove-sector professionals to have discussions about the state of the sector, innovation, new models, and new opportunities. The purpose of HEARTH is to leverage more resources (especially financial support) for our work, bring new talent into the sector, and help integrate the work that stovers and other Community-based Development practitioners have done into the broader humanitarian and international development context.

3) Volunteering
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact me directly with the subject line, "HEARTH--Volunteer"

We will be adding several new features this year: the Funder's panel will be on Thursday, August 17th, and the afternoon will feature a "Speed Meets with the Funders" workshop, which will allow nonprofit professionals to connect with foundations and learn whether their programs and strategies are aligned. We will also have capacity-building sessions on how to work with Rotary International, presentations by Oregon impact inventors with humanitarian technologies, a workshop on how to build rocket stoves, and of course, the latest lessons learned from the field in Household and Renewable Energy Technologies, from implementing to monitoring. Friday will focus on  building effective partnerships and how to design projects and attract the partners who can help take ideas to scale. Saturday focuses on the role of cookstoves and other specific household and renewable energy technologies, and models for integrating them into development projects, at both the local level, and a policy level. Sunday features workshops, presentations, and technology demonstrations by Pacific Northwest nonprofits, impact inventors and social entrepreneurs. Additional breakouts will focus on the domestic role of renewable energy technologies in the emergency preparedness context.

We look forward to seeing you there and building the meaningful connections that will help us make an impact!
Warmest regards,
