Yes it only works with ferromagnetic pots. I have two sets of
stainless steel cookware I inherited, only one set works on the
induction hob. My aluminium non stick wok, which is my most used pan,
doesn't work.

I borrowed a ceramic and titanium non stick wok which was fantastic,
they have somehow embedded a ferromagnetic  insert into the base but
it  cost more than the hob.

I use more oil in the pan with the steel and vitreous enamelled frying
pan than I do with the non stick so this may be seen as a bad thing. I
am completely incapable of using the vitreous enamelled cast iron pan
without burning something on to the bottom, this would not be too bad
except it makes stirring and tossing too difficult and I have to wash
it up.
