Dear Stovers with Vision

The Social Capital Investment movement, which is entirely private, has been going for a decade now. It is where people invest in businesses with a triple bottom line: positive on environmental impact, social impact and financial profit. The amount of money available for this worthy type of investment is large.

If you want to attend these events, be prepared to pitch an investment opportunity. You will gain an investment partner, usually limited to 20-40% of the capital requirement. Normally they want to sell out after 5 years. They are investing funds which are identified by the owners for such SoCap projects, and if they don’t find something promising, they just wait.

There should be lots of stove projects with a positive account in all three categories. Never overlook a funding source that will create the expansion you envisage!

SOCAP is excited to announce a new initiative, The Good Capital Project, launching June 19th, 2017 at an event in New York City. Through a new design thinking process, we will convene all constituents to drive greater collaboration and accelerate capital flows into purpose-driven investments. The project will focus on generating innovative and sustainable solutions to align the capital markets with the human needs of tomorrow.
