Stovers,
A new friend Ih Cheng sent me a message that included this comment and link:

It is a very interesting stove with an informative video (amost 18
minutes, but worth the time to watch it all). The combustion processes
are the creation of PWG (pyrolytic woodgas) with CCC (close coupled
combustion (as are the TLUD stoves), but done from the side. The video
clearly shows the charcoal production (revealing that the char could be
removed and saved -- of interest to the biochar listserv
subscribers---), but the demonstration then burns the char inside the
stove.
It appears that the "limiting of primary air from above" is to have
control to restrict the exiting of the pyrolytic woodgas (PWG), causing
the PWG that is restrained in the fuel chamber to limit the amount of
new primary air that can enter. As I said, very interesting.
The stove has some complexities (including moving parts), and is not yet
into a production mode. But it should not be ignored. Further
information and contact is via the website at fyro-stove.de and emai
to info at fyro-stove.de I hope that they will join the Stove
Listserv (if not already subscribed.)
